Recently, Google jumped into the mobile handsets market with its handset powered by Google's open-source operating system – “Android”. This affected business model of its competitor Apple, and the later had to drop non-disclosure agreement for iPhone OS (Operating System) software developers to stay in competition .
We see a lot of trends towards adoption of open source software revenue model. Few years back this model was adopted by only few companies and now its the most talked about model. As apple does not have reputation of providing open source products, I wonder how Apple will handle this new threat!
